Google has finally announced that the Pixel 8 series will launch in India. After skipping three significant generations of the Pixel series for this market, Google unveiled its flagship Pixel 7 series last year. The launch this year was a little iffy because it was thought that the Pixel 7 series would not have had a great reception in India. But there is good news for Pixel fans: the Pixel 8 series will soon be available. Here are the anticipated Pixel series prices and specifications for India.

  • Pixel 8 series: Expected India price:

TheTechOutlook and tipper Paras Guglani predict that the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro may cost much more in Europe. Prior to discussing the leaked costs, it is important to note that Indian prices are often a little cheaper than those seen in European marketplaces. The price of the Pixel 8 with 128GB of storage may range from EUR 710 (about Rs 63,370) without tax to EUR 874 (nearly Rs 78,000) with tax. Regarding the Pixel 8 Pro, it is said to have a starting price of $1,235 (around Rs 1,10,220) for 128GB of storage, inclusive of tax.

A business typically launches phones in India at the first set pricing instead of using the tax structure in Europe. The Pixel 8 is anticipated to cost between Rs 60,000 and Rs 65,000 in India. However, this is only a forecast based on leaks and earlier launches; it is not the actual cost. Recall that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro had price tags of Rs 59,999 and Rs 84,999, respectively, in India. At the conclusion of the international event, the costs of these 5G phones were revealed. Therefore, on October 8, the price information will be made public if the new Pixel 8 series is going to India.

  • Pixel 8 series: Leaked specification:

Google Pixel 8 Pro

The Google Pixel 8 is rumored to sport a smaller 6.17-inch 120Hz AMOLED display boasting 1,400nits peak brightness and 427 ppi. If this proves true, it should be a welcome relief for fans of compact phones. The Pixel 8 is expected to run on Google's next-generation flagship Tensor G3 chipset, paired with the latest UFS 4.0 storage for swift file access.

In terms of its rear camera setup, the Pixel 8 could feature a 50-megapixel GN2 primary sensor, a 12-megapixel IMX386 ultra-wide sensor, and a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor. This new configuration is anticipated to enhance light processing by 35 percent and improve HDR capabilities. Users might also gain the ability to record 8K videos at 30fps. On the front, leaks suggest an 11-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

Under the hood, the upcoming Pixel 8 is rumored to house a 4,485mAh battery supporting 24W fast wired charging. Google is also expected to include support for 20W wireless charging, without a charger included in the retail package, following the company's recent trend.

As for the Pixel 8 Pro, it may feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz LTPO OLED display. The front could house an 11-megapixel selfie camera. On the rear, the phone might sport three camera sensors, including a 50-megapixel OIS-enabled primary camera, a 64-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 49-megapixel telephoto. The phone is likely to adopt a design combining glass and metal, similar to the previous year's Pixel 7 Pro.

Under the hood of the Pixel 8 Pro, you can expect to find a Google Tensor G3 SoC and a 4,950mAh battery with 27W wired charging support. The charger is not expected to be included in the box. Other notable features could include a Titan security chip, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a temperature monitoring sensor, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.
